Last night I download a math app for my kids to practicing doing math and again I got the info from a co-worker whose children already use it.
Also, I am not sure what the fate will be of our app committee, I hope it stays intact. :-(

I added few new apps
Okay so this past Friday, I added the Overdrive app, I can now download material from my local library and I also paid for Angry Birds game, the first app I have actually paid money to use.
I still find that I am getting all of my suggestions from friends and not any other source. I wish I could find a way to find educational apps for my children, so they just don't use the Ipad for games. I would like them to use to help enhance their education as well. :-(

I added new apps to my pad
A lot activity yesterday as far as apps go, I added three apps, but I guess the biggest factor to this is they are all based on products or services I already use. Here is my list below f new apps:
Kindle - I got one for Christmas
Snapfish - I have been using this photo service for ate least 4 years now
Angry Birds - I had heard how popular this games was, so I downloaded a free version, the kids love it. (this is the only app I downloaded that I had not had any previous experience using myself)
I am really interested in finding more apps for my children, so that is my next challenge.

Nothing new to report
Yesterday I deleted the facebook app I had been using, which was really meant for an Iphone for a another app especially designed for the Ipad, but not created by Apple. It was a little confusing to work and I cannot say I have the hang of it but I will play with it more this weekend. Also, I plan to follow up with Tracy today to see if her son, gave her suggestions for apps for kids.

Downloaded my first apps, yeah!
Okay, so I downloaded my first two apps last night after work and one I mentioned in a previous post, facebook, which I may delete and reload because it keeps providing alerts whenever someone post on my page, very annoying. The second one is a calorie counter app for a website I have used frequently and noticed yesterday that they had a app so I found it in app store, it was free by the way, and downloaded, used it within a minute of downloading it, very cool. So in summary I have added two apps I learned about on my own all by myself. :-)

Trying somthing new
Recently I was given a first generation Ipad from my very generous father, thanks dad, and since I am apart of a team at work focusing on apps and how people, find and use them. It was suggested to me that I blog about my experiences so that there would be some kind of record about the process. So here I go!
I so far have only spoke to two people about what apps to use and the only apps I know I am going to download are as follows: facebook, cartoon network & some app so I can watch sports. My ipad will be used by everyone in the family but I have a feeling that myself and my two sons will be the primary users. As I go along I plan on posting thoughts about apps, how I find them or who recommends them and rather or not my family finds them useful.
I must say that I am surprised by my inactivity in downloading apps. I really thought I would get the ipad and go crazy using it in multiple ways. Here are the realizations I immediately identified after actually getting the ipad.
1. Not having 3G really changes how I will use the machine (and the reason my father gave this one to me) I cannot use it in the car (not that it would be safe if I am driving) But it really effects my thoughts about taking it places when I am with the kids. I will definitely need a wireless network to get the full use.
2. I am a Apple novice. The only apple device in my household is my wife's ipod and I never use that. But now I will become imitate with itunes if I plan to use the ipad as expected.
3. I don't think I am going to use it at work. I really thought that I would use the ipad everyday at work but now I don't think I will. Maybe this will change if I find some killer apps that would make work easier, maybe.
4. I will not be downloading my pictures or any of my music to the ipad and that may rule out a lot of apps that other users take advantage of.
5. other concerns in no particular order, cost of apps, security for the ipad and ?????
